Softball – Report #3

Morgan Bolduk, Fr., Utility, Vernon

Earned the award for the second time in three weeks. Coming off an 11-day layoff due to a foot injury, Bolduk pitched a complete-game seven-hitter with six strikeouts and two walks in a 3-2 win at Springfield College Saturday. In her first win as a starter, Bolduk handed Springfield its second loss against ten wins, recording her third complete game in four starts. Bolduk outdueled Springfield's unbeaten pitcher Shelby Allen, allowing only one earned run. Bolduk never allowed more than one hit in an inning until the sixth and stranded three runners in both the sixth and seventh, getting outfield fly balls to end each of those final two innings. Bolduk also contributed two hits and scored a run in the doubleheader and handled five fielding chances without an error. The team leader in pitching wins, Bolduk has a 4-to-1 strikeout-to-walk ratio in a team-high 28 innings and is also second on the team with a .407 batting average and is perfect on 26 defensive chances. She has made starts at pitcher and first base and has batted leadoff in each of her starts.
