Senior center back Krista Petersen of Wallingford played every minute of the match for the seventh time in nine contests, limiting UMass Dartmouth to only four overall shots (one on goal) as the Warriors extended their unbeaten streak in Little East Conference regular-season games to 20 (19-0-1) with a 2-0 home win Saturday. In the second half, Petersen also cleared a ball off the back line after a free kick eluded goalie Kayla Labrecque to keep the lead and shutout intact. The shutout was the third this season and second in as many LEC matches for Eastern, which has won three straight since a five-match winless streak (0-3-2). For her play, Petersen was recognized as LEC Defensive Player-of-the-Week for the third time in her four-year career.
