Men's Cross Country: Warriors Race to Third Place in 17-Team Field at Crowell

The Warriors placed four of their five scoring runners among the top 15 in a solid third-place finish with 80 points. Freshmen Ryan Escoda (Newtown) led the way in fifth place, and freshman John Walker (Westerly, RI) and sophomores Maxwell Chace (Brooklyn) and Brian Balkus (Ashford) finished ten seconds apart. Escoda was timed in 27:22 – just six second out of third place in the field of 140.  Walker was 11th (28:14), Chace 13th (28.19) and Balkus 15th (28:24). First-year sophomore Cameron Gonzales (Plainfield) rounded out Eastern's five scoring runners, placing 37th overall in a time of 29:38. University of New England topped the field with 25 points, followed by Wentworth Institute of Technology (57) and Eastern (80).
